Here’s the upstairs bath before we moved in. Quite little, lots of light, and dated.
We started by removing the old sink (late one night…. and had to stop in the middle because, like most things in this house, it proved to be more complicated than we predicted) I ended up repurposing the cabinet as a little potting table out in the garage (with a new top). After living with out a sink for a couple week, we had our pedestal sink installed. It was well-worth the wait.
I almost kept the little medicine cabinet, but ended up switching it out for a round, rattan mirror which brings some nice texture to the space. The bathroom still has the old charm feeling, but with a fresher outlook. (I think I heard it thank me.)
The light fixture is the same one Young House Love featured months ago. I thought it would be perfect in this little bathroom! And it’s a total steal at only $32. I took the cage off that it comes with, it made it look more industrial–which is cool, just didn’t work so well in this bathroom.
One day I hope to completely the re-do the shower. For now, we removed the old accordion door and put up a pretty shower curtain.
We decided to lay some new tiles as well. They were, yet another, steal at only 87 cents a tile. The color is called “Gray Marble”, I wasn’t able to find the link online.
