Downstairs Bathroom Makeover

There are two full baths in this house. Downstairs has a full tub and upstairs has a shower. As you saw, earlier the downstairs bathroom was adorned with a beautiful indoor/outdoor carpet, wall paper and shiny brass light fixtures. Just what we had always dreamed of!

The day we closed on the house, we went straight to it and opened all the windows and ripped up ALL of the carpet (which covered the entire house, aside from the kitchen and upstairs bath.)

That, immediately helped this bathroom’s predicament. We followed that with wallpaper removal and paint on the walls and vanity. We have some bigger plans for this bathroom, but wanted to at least update it for the time being. I found these light fixtures at Lowe’s in the outdoor lighting section. The mirror we had. Amazing how different the room looks and feels now!

We like to think that we’re revitalizing an old house, instead of renovating it. Keeping the character of the house, but breathing new life into it.
Update: We tiled the floor the same way we did upstairs.
