Decorate to please yourself
I’m feeling so inspired! Which is a big deal, because I’ve been in a bit of a rut lately. (Forgive me for my lack of posts!) Anyway, I’ve been feasting my eyes on so many gorgeous spaces lately. From the iconic rooms by Bunny Williams and Eddie Ross to the seriously-awesome case studies on One King’s Lane and Apartment Therapy–I’ve been so ramped up to liven up our home. Time to inject some life and personality! The theme (or mantra) for me at the moment actually came from Bunny Williams: “If you love it, it goes”. Our homes are for us to enjoy, truly.
Here, at Indigo and honey, I like to share my tips, inspirations and thoughts on how to create a home that you love. We talk about how to find things that suit your true style, staying in budget, getting organized, decluttering, and more. These things are my passion, but I’ve only really been able to share with you how I apply these principals to our own home, “our little house on the hill”. Today, that’s going to change! I leaked on Instagram recently that I’m doing a couple room makeovers for some friends and asked if you guys would be interested in seeing the process. The answer was a big overwhelming YES! I’m thrilled to share with you how I’m going to transform Deanna and Steven’s master bedroom into a retreat that they’ll love to escape to at the end of each day. Here goes nothing!
Thank you guys so much for the sweet comments and feedback on my ‘Vintage-Coastal Den Reveal’ last week! I’m so glad to have given some of you new ideas and inspiration. I know I shared some sources that went into decorating the den in my last POST, but there was so much that went into this space, I want to share even more of the sources and details.
I am so excited to share our new den with all of you today!! I can’t even tell you the sigh of relief I’m taking as I write this! This project has been in the works for what feels like forever! Not because it was hard to do or that we had any troubles, but it took time to not only collect the pieces and decide on the vibe of the room, but to decide on WHAT this space was going to be! It was an evolution and we took breaks and came back to it. Now that it has come together, I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you all! I hope you enjoy our vintage-coastal den reveal!
For anyone who loves Farmhouse style with a New England flair–I’ve created a quick round-up of the perfect goodies for your house! Let this be your shopping guide 🙂
Have you seen what we did in our kitchen to create a tiny eat-in area? This little cape didn’t have an obvious dining space (at all). We created a beautiful bar in our kitchen to belly up to and eat our breakfast at or put out appetizers for guests and that works great for us on an every day level.
