I thought it was about time I jump back onto the blog and say hi to you guys! Here’s a little update of what we’ve been up to lately–and if you’re not following me on instagram, you should because I post daily!
First up, we painted our outdoor furniture black! We got these pieces from Raymour & Flanigan last Fall and styled them up in a warm, earthy palette that was perfectly seasonal and fun. But come this Spring, the warm wood tones felt off on our black and white porch so they got a makeover. I’m so happy with how they turned out; they feel more classic and timeless now against our white house with black shutters.
I’m in love with how all the black pops now!
Mmm! Isn’t this just the dreamiest? These old world beauties fell right into place at the top of our yard. They’re giving me all the English garden feels that I’ve always dreamt of. A family friend kindly gifted these to us and after my (tirelessly generous) mother repainted them with a fresh coat of creamy white they found themselves settled into our property line, creating a new spot to sip and reflect.
What is it about a clothes line…. Is it the way sheets dance in the breeze, or the smell of sun dried linens? It feels nostalgic and wonderful. Our house already had the spools installed, we just needed to string up the line. I proclaimed to Greg at the beginning of Spring that I needed to have it and the day he brought home the rope and I saw him out my window getting it assembled, I couldn’t help but smile.
Along the same lines would be us introducing cloth napkins to our everyday life. Everything feels more special with a cloth napkin, even your morning toast. They feel more sweet and thoughtful.
Gorgeous gifted flowers above and below from friends and family. I’m truly the luckiest. You can almost smell them, can’t you?
Lastly, wild rose. Every year it catches me by surprise. It’s flowers are so delicate and fragrant, the scent completely fills the lower half of our property. I love lazily dwelling down here to take photos and enjoy.
Hope you’re all doing well and enjoyed this mini-update.
