Spring is finally here, and I don’t know about you, but I love this time of year for getting inspired and starting new projects! We hear about spring cleaning all the time–and that’s a wonderful place to start (especially if you’re on the road to Minimalism, like me). But after that, let the real fun begin! What is your home lacking? Do you want to up your wow-factor this year? Here are 10 of my favorite home DIYs from all over the blogosphere. I have faith in you–you can totally tackle any of these. Let me know your favorite project in the comments at the end!

1. Dark Gray Accent Wall – Thrifty Decor Chick

So moody, so good and so doable! First of all, if you haven’t yet checked out Sarah’s blog Thrift Decor Chick I want you to go there immediately after you finish here. She’ll become a fast favorite. Second of all, this project created such a beautiful impact in their bedroom and it’s relatively simple to do. I’d love to apply this technique somewhere in our little cottage. Here you have it, the DIY dark gray accent wall:

2. Stenciled Patio – ZevyJoy

Ah!! This makes my heart jump. Even I could do this! I love the neutral palette she used (of course) but the pattern is so lovely and brings so much energy to the patio. It’s like having a giant outdoor rug, without the fading or need for storage. Love it. Annie’s home style is the epitome of #swoonworthy . If you’re a pinterest junky or home design nerd, like me, her blog is an absolutely must-visit. You’re welcome.

3. Wallpapered Kitchen Ceiling – Rooms For Rent Blog

I love the look of beadboard. On the walls, as a backsplash and now on the ceiling! How beautiful does this look in Bre’s kitchen? Her blog, Rooms for Rent is a stunner and this project is no exception. I can’t believe this is actually wallpaper! So simple and so beautiful. If you’re into farmhouse style, start here.

4. Pea Gravel Patio – City Farmhouse

Greg and I are playing around with this idea at our own house! I love the idea of expanding our outdoor living area and not breaking the bank. Jen from City Farmhouse is one of my absolute f a v o r i t e bloggers and I think you’ll see why.

5.  1 Curtain – 3 Ways – Emily Henderson

Em Henderson is the master of all things stylish. She’s a creative idol to many (myself included). Her blog is full of fresh ideas that truly embrace individuality and thinking outside the box. Here’s just a taste of that with her 1 Curtain-3 Ways project.

6. Driftwood Fireplace Mantel – Designer Trapped

Yes, yes, yesss! This is gorgeous. It requires some powertools and a little know-how BUT the outcome is so timeless and beautiful! Tasha’s entire project section of her blog (Designer Trapped) is to die for. She’s such an inspiration to me and I’m sure you’ll feel the same. Go get ’em, girl.

7. Add Trim to Plain Doors – The Painted Hive

So many of my readers ask me about updating the build-grade characteristics in their homes. This is one of my favorite DIY upgrades! Plain doors are fine… doors with moldings are better! You can create any look you want, there are plenty of versions of these plans online, but I think this is a great affordable option. I’m new to The Painted Hive and I am loving what I’m seeing!

8. Budget-Friendly Gravel Garden – Indigo & Honey

Okay, you know I had to include one of my favorite projects we’ve done–our back garden! This project has made such a huge impact in our backyard. We chose materials that are made to last and be easy upkeep. I would recommend this technique to anyone who has gotten the landscaping bug.

9. Patterned Wall – A Beautiful Mess

Oh heyyy accent wall! You don’t need an Art Degree to master this fresh take on an accent wall. Just a paint brush and your favorite color. It can be as subtle or as loud as you want, depend on the hue you choose. While you’re at A Beautiful Mess, have a little fun and look around a bit–they are absolutely fantastic!

10. Hula Hoop Tent – A Beautiful Mess

I had to stick with these ladies from ABM for the last tutorial because I know so many of my mom’s out there would love this project. I would have died for this as a kid!
